St. Augustine

Performs beautifully in a broad range of settings.  Grows better in shade than other turfgrasses. St. Augustine is more vulnerable to brown patch and other diseases that other turfgrasses.  One pallet covers 450 sq. ft. of area.

Bermuda

(Tifway 419 available) Most common turfgrasses used on golf courses and fairways. Grows well in full sun.  Can develop thatch if not properly maintained and if clippings are not bagged.  One pallet covers 450 sq. ft. of area.

Zoysia

Narrow blade similar to Bermuda, although more shade tolerant. Very good turfgrass for high traffic areas. Like Bermuda clippings should be bagged. One pallet covers 450 sq. ft. of area.

Watering

Newly installed turf should be watered daily and soaked thoroughly to a depth of  3 inches for the first 10 to 14 days to avoid dry out.  Thereafter as needed to prevent the sod from drying out.  As the roots develop, watering less frequently will encourage the roots to go deeper and store water.
